| Bali Modern presents the ceramic art of Lakeman and Oldroyd, two Australian artists living in Bali, Indonesia. Graham Oldroyd developed a castable refractory material that enables the artists to create ceramic pieces on a a scale previously thought impossible. Tiles are made using sand cast techniques (pressing designs into sand from the beaches of Bali). This is a unique combination of material and process. The pieces (including tiles, architectural details, and basins) are currently sold in over 140, high end showrooms in the United States. The artists also create tables, urns, lightring, and homewares. The designs range from classic to modern. |
